7月28日，由外交部、国家国际发展合作署、联合国发展系统驻华机构联合举办的全球发展倡议5周年高级别会议在京举行，联合国机构代表、多国驻华使节、国内外专家学者等中外嘉宾围绕“全球发展倡议5周年再出发，构建可持续发展的美好未来”主题，热议倡议提出5年来取得的丰硕成果，赞赏中国在推进国际发展合作中发挥的引领作用。
On July 28,the High-level Conference Marking the 5th Anniversary of the Global Development Initiative,co-hosted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs,the China International Development Cooperation Agency and the United Nations Development System in China,opened in Beijing.Chinese and foreign guests including representatives of UN agencies,diplomatic envoys of various countries to China,and domestic and foreign experts and scholars held in-depth discussions on the fruitful outcomes delivered by the GDI over the past five years under the theme"Embarking on a New Journey at the 5th Anniversary of the Global Development Initiative to Forge a Bright Future of Sustainable Development".They commended China’s leading role in advancing international development cooperation.

5年前，面对全球发展事业何去何从的时代之问，习近平主席在第七十六届联大一般性辩论上郑重提出全球发展倡议，为重振全球发展事业提供了中国方案。
Five years ago,faced with the epochal question of where global development should head,President Xi Jinping solemnly put forward the Global Development Initiative at the General Debate of the 76th Session of the United Nations General Assembly,offering a Chinese solution to reinvigorate global development.
联合国副秘书长、秘书长办公厅主任拉特雷表示，全球发展倡议深深植根于中国自身的发展实践。中国在推动经济转型升级进程中积累的宝贵经验，为其他面临发展挑战的国家提供了重要借鉴。“中国通过扩大融资、推动技术合作和发展战略伙伴关系，在促进各国和地区可持续发展方面发挥着重要作用。”
Courtenay Rattray,UN Under-Secretary-General and Chef de Cabinet of the UN Secretary-General,said the GDI is deeply rooted in China’s own development experience.The valuable experience China has accumulated in advancing economic transformation and upgrading offers vital reference for other countries grappling with development challenges."By scaling up financing,promoting technological cooperation and fostering strategic partnerships,China plays a pivotal role in advancing sustainable development across all countries and regions,"he noted.

Bett,Ambassador of Kenya to China,stated that over the past five years,the GDI advocates cooperation over confrontation and common prosperity over cutthroat competition,bringing new hope to a large number of developing countries."Kenya is grateful to President Xi Jinping for proposing the Global Development Initiative.The practical achievements of the past five years prove that the GDI is a pragmatic international cooperation platform that delivers hope,opportunities and sustainable development to millions of people,"he said.

The launch of this Initiative demonstrates China’s inspiring leadership and long-term vision,injecting strong confidence into the development of all parties,"said Hashmi,Ambassador of Pakistan to China.He added that through platforms including joint development of the Belt and Road Initiative,China has consistently shared technologies,capital and management expertise with all countries under the GDI,greatly helping other developing nations tackle development challenges.

On July 17,President Xi Jinping attended the opening ceremony of the 2026 World Artificial Intelligence Conference and the High-level Meeting on Global AI Governance and delivered a keynote speech.He will guide China to work with all partners in a more open stance,more pragmatic actions and a longer-term perspective to improve global governance on artificial intelligence,advance the sound and beneficial development of AI for the good of humanity.

A day earlier,China and 28 other countries jointly signed the Agreement on Establishing the World Artificial Intelligence Cooperation Organization,marking a major step taken by China to respond to the calls of the Global South and actively advance AI development and governance.

Stephen Jackson,UN Resident Coordinator in China,said the intelligent meteorological early warning system"Mazu"showcased at the World Artificial Intelligence Conference left a deep impression on him."Whether it is geospatial meteorology,autonomous driving or embodied intelligence,China stands at the global forefront of AI innovation and empowers global development through technology sharing,"he remarked.He stated that the UN system stands ready to further deepen cooperation with China,a responsible major country.It will support all countries,particularly those of the Global South,to capture the enormous dividends brought by artificial intelligence,and advance the ethical,inclusive development of AI for the benefit of all humanity.

As a key measure to support the implementation of the UN 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development,China established the International Research Center of Big Data for Sustainable Development Goals in 2021,aiming to strengthen cooperation with all sides and jointly explore solutions for leveraging big data to advance sustainable development.
可持续发展大数据国际研究中心主任、中国科学院院士郭华东介绍，五年来，在全球发展倡议框架下，研究中心通过大数据获取、应用、评估和服务等，加强人工智能与数字技术合作，赋能太平洋岛国、非洲国家等科技创新发展，为落实2030年议程、推动构建人类命运共同体作出贡献。
Guo Huadong,Director of the International Research Center of Big Data for Sustainable Development Goals and Member of the Chinese Academy of Sciences,introduced that over the past five years,under the framework of the GDI,the center has boosted cooperation on artificial intelligence and digital technologies through big data acquisition,application,assessment and services,empowered scientific and technological innovation in Pacific island countries,African nations and other regions,and contributed to delivering the 2030 Agenda and fostering a community with a shared future for mankind.

As one of the founding members of the World Artificial Intelligence Cooperation Organization,Kenya attaches great importance to deepening development cooperation with China.Ambassador Bett said Kenya stands ready to seize opportunities together with China in digitalization and intelligent technologies to further advance the sound and beneficial development of artificial intelligence.

发展的道路上，一个国家也不能掉队。5年来，全球发展倡议务实合作成果接连落地。在中国—联合国和平与发展基金、全球发展和南南合作基金等带动下，已累计动员230多亿美元资金，实施了1800多个“小而美”“暖民心”的合作项目，培训各类人才超过20万名……倡议成果为120多个国家的人民带来实实在在的福祉。
On the path of development,no country should be left behind.Over the past five years,a steady stream of practical cooperation outcomes have materialized under the GDI.Driven by funds including the China-UN Peace and Development Fund and the Global Development and South-South Cooperation Fund,more than 23 billion US dollars have been mobilized in total,over 1,800 small yet beautiful,people-centered cooperation projects have been carried out,and more than 200,000 professionals of various fields have received training...The outcomes of the Initiative have brought tangible benefits to people in over 120 countries.
联合国儿童基金会驻华代表桑爱玲表示，当前全球发展失衡问题突出。在此背景下，各国深化伙伴关系、推动和平发展、化解发展分歧、弥合各类冲突至关重要。桑爱玲认为，全球发展倡议精准对接发展中国家现实需求，不仅提供资金支持、实现技术赋能，更搭建起了经验共享、能力共建的务实平台，为全球南方国家补齐民生短板、实现可持续发展提供了宝贵机遇。
Amakobe Sande,UNICEF Representative in China,pointed out that severe imbalances persist in global development.Against this backdrop,it is crucial for all countries to deepen partnerships,pursue peaceful development,resolve divergences over development and bridge various conflicts.She held that the GDI precisely caters to the practical needs of developing countries.It not only provides financial support and technological empowerment,but also builds a pragmatic platform for experience sharing and capacity building,offering precious opportunities for Global South countries to address weaknesses in people’s livelihoods and achieve sustainable development.
马来西亚驻华大使馆副馆长诺法琳娜·穆罕德·阿兹米表示，面对全球经济复苏乏力及南北发展不平衡的挑战，全球发展倡议为各国特别是全球南方国家提供了重要的学习与交流平台。
Norfarina Mohd Azmee,Deputy Chief of Mission of the Malaysian Embassy in China,said that amid sluggish global economic recovery and the challenges of north-south development disparities,the GDI serves as an important platform for all countries,especially Global South nations,to learn and exchange ideas.
“中国在推动构建更加公正合理的全球治理体系、促进发展成果惠及更多国家和民众等方面发挥着重要作用。”尼日利亚驻华大使丹巴藻表示，全球发展倡议在教育、粮食安全、医疗卫生服务等方面为尼日利亚带来了切实帮助。"
China plays an important role in advancing a more just and reasonable global governance system and ensuring development fruits benefit more countries and their people,"said H.E.Abdulrahman Bello Dambazau,Ambassador of Nigeria to China,adding that the GDI has delivered tangible assistance to Nigeria in education,food security,medical and health services and other sectors.
几内亚比绍驻华大使恩巴洛认为，全球发展倡议推动各国共享发展红利、深化务实合作，助力实现共同发展繁荣，契合国际社会共同利益。
Antonio Serifo Embalo,Ambassador of Guinea-Bissau to China,believed that the GDI drives all countries to share development dividends and deepen practical cooperation,facilitates common development and prosperity,and aligns with the shared interests of the international community.
